A Few Words on Florida & Medical Marijuana

Today I read this story about the problems Florida is having with Pain Clinics and a pharmaceutical black market.  And I cherry picked the following line out from the article because it represents the monumental importance of safe nontoxic Medical Marijuana.

The Mistreatment Of Medical Marijuana patients

This article is about Canada, but honestly it applies to many  the US States, other Countries and their handling MMJ programs as well.

Decriminalizing marijuana would save public resources

At a time when state and local governments are laying off police, firefighters and teachers, this country continues to spend enormous public resources criminalizing Americans who prefer marijuana to martinis. The end result of this ongoing culture war is not necessarily lower rates of use.

Mexico's Drug Arrests Lead to Dangerous Overcrowding of Their Prison System: US Private Prisons to the Rescue!

I was reading about the recent jail break at Nuevo Laredo, where 140 prisoners escaped. After reading several articles, what really caught my attention was the explosion of prison populations, they quadrupled in just 4 years. I think we should be taking a serious look at the living and safety conditions of the Mexican prison system. I also must wonder, if the US funding Mexico's Drug War is causing multiple human rights issues in Mexico?

Legal Cannabis Would Cause Alcohol,Tobacco and Prison Profits to Plummet!

I read this in a comment section and found it to be "Words of Wisdom"  so I added it to my blog, and put up a few appropriate pictures.

California policeman rants about prop 215 and insults the voters

Yesterday, one of my Facebook friends posted a link, to a California Motorcycle officers blog. The more times I read his blog, the madder I have become, not only is he rude and arrogant, he insults the majority of California's voters. Here is a small quote from the MotorCop blog, please be sure to read the rest.

Let's talk about Prop. 215. What's that? It's California's (I swear I'm not making this up) Compassionate User act of 1996. Could they have come up with a more touchy-feely name? Oh, that's right, I live in California. We're not called the Left Coast for nothing

If Pot Were Legal, No One Would Grow it in the Woods

The tittle is from the speakeasy Blog, that being said I wrote an article similar to this earlier this year, Legalize Marijuana to Make Our Forests Safe

If Pot Were Legal, No One Would Grow it in the Woods

Can you even think of anything besides marijuana that is grown secretly in the woods? Of course not, because hiking over mountains through dense underbrush with pounds of fertilizer on your back is so stupid and crazy that no one would ever do it unless there were millions of dollars at stake. Unfortunately, there actually are people making millions off these operations and the U.S. Congress is so fed up with the situation that they've issued a resolution demanding that something be done about it.

When the whole truth is not allowed in court

When I think of court in the United States I picture the bailiff with the Bible in hand asking "do you swear to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God". Now I would think that it would be illegal to give a testimony that was out of context or one that omitted a part of the truth.

Cambodia and Cannabis

Since I just did a blog story on Vietnam, I felt that Cambodia should be my next investigation. Well the one thing that is really unique to Cambodia, is the "Happy Pizza" a cannabis connoisseurs gourmet edible treat.

Marijuana and Travel

Cambodia

At a guest house called Victory. As it turns out the staff were very friendly and wanted to take care of all our needs. If you want beer, food, motor-bikes, visas, girls, drugs, boat tours or any thing you can think of, they can get it for you. The place is owned by a cop an he is concerned about your pleasure. Nobody comes back to a place where they did not have fun! I bought half a kilo of sixty bucks of some slightly seeded wild cannabis.

Vietnam: Cannabis Profile

Vietnam

When I was young, all the guys that were coming back from the Vietnam war, always talked about the great weed that they had smoked while stationed there. This made me wonder what cannabis use and laws are like in Vietnam today.

Albania - Cannabis, Hashish or Poverty?

I came across this picture on Google images and with a little searching, I found the article that went with it. Albania is a very interesting country, that is going through serious economic problems. Many of which are being caused by the international prohibition of cannabis, Albania's main cash crop.

LAZARAT, Albania (Reuters)

Albania has been clamping down on cannabis cultivation since Prime Minister Sali Berisha pledged early this year to "wipe it off the map".
But in the southern village of Lazarat, where plants have been uprooted by police, residents feel they are being singled out and harshly showcased
"Why didn’t you come much earlier?" an old woman wailed at the police, berating them for not acting before work had gone into growing the crop. "Four of our donkeys died fetching water for these plants. And now you come and the harvest’s all gone."

Italy ti fumo di cannabis?

I have been enjoying learning & bloging about the cannabis culture of different countries around the globe, today I will explore Italy. My first search was Google images where I found this uber cool Italian cannabis flag.

How to say Do you smoke cannabis in Czech - Kouříte konopí.

Czech pot smokers exhale with relief over new drug law

Czech pot smokers have breathed a sigh of relief after the government clarified a law on drug use, turning the country into one of Europe's safest havens for casual drug users.
Under the more transparent and liberal law in effect since January, people found in possession of up to 15 grammes (half an ounce) of marijuana or growing up to five cannabis plants no longer risk prison or a criminal record, but can only be fined if caught.

Har (du) røget hash

Har du røg hash - or "do you smoke cannabis"?

Edit: Thanks to "thecipher" (@Reddit) I now know the phrase actually means:
Have (you) smoked = Har (du) røget.
Thanks! :)
A Big thanks to all of you @reddit that replied to my mistake!

Now you might ask why an Alaskan would say something like that?
Well there is some Dane in my family tree. So I thought it might be interesting to see how the language looked. And I really wanted to see what the response would be to posting Har (du) røget hash - or "have you smoked cannabis" at Reddit. :)

Hash banker stashed millions in secret depot

A young man, who acted as a banker for cannabis dealers and their customers, is being charged with hiding millions of kroner in a secret depot in Denmark. According to Copenhagen police, over the past year, up to DKK 50 million (USD 9.4 million) was stashed in a hotel room in the city.

For some reason I have always interested in cannabis consumption outside the United States. Greenland has always interested me, here is the little information I've found on cannabis use in Greenland.

GREENLAND Here is an article John Yates translated from the Finnish newspaper, Hufvudstadsbladet.
Cannabis trade out of control.
It is impossible to fight the massive cannabis trade in Greenland as it involves the whole of society according to Hans Haahr, chief of Greenland's Drug Squad, in a statement to Radio Greenland.
The Drug Squad estimates that the trade in cannabis is worth 75 million US dollars, which is equivalent to nearly 10 per cent of the annual gross national product, including the economic assistance from Denmark. This makes the cannabis trade Greenland's third largest industry measured in annual turnover.

This is a very obscure uncyclopedia entry;

Eric The Red orEirik Raude in Norwegian (950 - 1000)
he took his ships, and headed for a unknown country. Finally he reached the yet called "Greenland". He called it Greenland because of the giantic cannabis fields he planted when he arrived. Because of Eric, Greenland became the richest country in the world.

Have you ever wondered if Icelanders smoke Budz?

Reykjavik

Icelanders consume between 1,5-2 metric tons of hashish and marijuana every year that's about 6-7 grams a person per year.

Almost 30% of the country has at one time or another tested (tried) cannabis. Although it's hard to confirm this number since even the most hardened smokers deny smoking marijuana in polls and wont sign the demand for legislation form, afraid of the list falling into police hands and being used to persecute smokers.

I would rather have that, which was grown outdoors,
by a master gardener with love.

Rather than a hurried indoor product, grown by a financially motivated entrepreneur.

Cannabis, Money & Trouble

Cannabis, Money & Trouble

The only trouble between cannabis and money, stems from a single problem that cannabis is illegal. Since cannabis is illegal, all cannabis prices including Medical Marijuana are dangerously inflated by its extremely over priced Black Market value.

I recently read that many dispensaries adjusted their pricing up to the Black Market Price to stop "flipping" the selling of Medical Marijuana for street price Black Market Price. So we see that Medical Marijuana Prices can and has been adjusted by the Black Market, which has Marijuana Prices in the thousands of dollars a Pound.

Now lets look at a few items that are legal and sold in the free market. I really love a great cup of coffee and it is a dried herb so I did a Google search for gourmet coffee by the Pound.

Gourmet coffee Google Shopping: high to low - the most expensive 3 are:

Jamaica Blue Mountain: Mavis Bank Estate Coffee 1 lb Whole Bean $49.99

Kona Coffee 100% Pure Coffee, 1 lb. $49.67
All Day Gourmet Coffee - Hawaiian Kona Fancy $37.95

Now we have seen a pound of Marijuana cost are about 50 times more expensive than a pound of gourmet coffee. Since most Marijuana ends up being sold in small quantities like quarter and eighth ounces, this puts the price of Marijuana even higher.

Lets take a look at the price of a pound of gourmet tea, which is another common dried herb.

Once again the 3 most expensive on Google Shopping:

Organic Sencha Ise Green Tea - 1lb $85.99
Mighty Leaf Matcha Loose Tea, 1 lb. Bag $84.99
Tavalon | Black Tea | Keemun, 1 pound bulk bag $80.50

I am sure there are more expensive Gourmet Coffees and Teas. I based my Marijuana Bud price @ $2,500 a lb, though I know it can be quite a bit more expensive.

I did find one dried herb in the same price range as marijuana. There is one slight difference, a single Marijuana plant can weigh 10 pounds.

Saffron flower

Saffron

The Herb;
Saffron, the most expensive spice in the world, has sold in recent years for as much as $2,700 per pound! The price tag is so high because it must be harvested by hand and it takes more than 75,000 threads, or filaments, of the crocus flower to equal one pound of the spice!
LINK

There it is, the reason Marijuana is dangerous. Prohibition makes it so Damn Expensive. Thanks to greed and its outrageous cash price, Marijuana is now the cause of everyday violence .
End prohibition and make Marijuana SAFE!

Free cannabis,
End Prohibition!
