Attention Washington Voters - Think Sensible Washington!
Washingstonians vote wisely!
There is a new initiative getting a lot of attention in Washington state, one that is better than todays cannabis laws though still lacking and leaving many facets of marijuana illegal. I find it strange that there is an absurd 1oz possession limit on cannabis which no one has ever over dosed on, yet Washington state has no possession limit on alcohol from which many people have died from over indulging.

Drugs, Wars and a Simple Question
I find it sadly amusing that the United States has spent over a trillion dollars fighting The War On Drugs. Our Government spends untold billions each year flying around looking for and eradicating cannabis gardens. They hunt for cannabis from backyards with a few plants in five gallon buckets to the gorilla gardens hidden in our forests.
Yet in Afghanistan opium poppies thrive in fields that go on as far as the eye can see,
why?
Update: found this CNN video that adds an answer to my question,
but brings forth more questions.

The Global War On Drugs: Nixon's Great Crime
There has been lots written about Nixon and especially Watergate, but the far worse crime he committed was the demonization of cannabis. While the Shafer commissions report plainly stated marijuana should not be considered an important problem. Nixon went against the reports findings and began a global war against the cannabis community.

War on Drugs a Success - Pot Propaganda Continues
Sometimes it amazes me the crazy tales those against legalizing drugs will write to support their position. I came across an article that was so full of BS that I felt I should share it with my readers.

Legalized drugs would not be a drug fueled orgy of chaos
There is much fear mongering since the UN received the Global Report for the legalization of drugs. Lets be reasonable and practical, we know cannabis will not be sold next to the candy bars nor will it be sold in toy shops. We already know when cannabis is sold it will be taxed, controlled and carefully regulated. It will become the states decision on how exactly the public will access cannabis purchases and looking at their history with cannabis it will certainly not be a drug crazed chaotic free for all.
End Cannabis Prohibition - Support Sensible Washington!
Sensible Washington needs your support!
Every once in awhile one has to really take in the whole perspective of why cannabis prohibition needs to end. It is not about potheads being able to smoke it up. It is not about medical marijuana patients having unrestricted access to their healing herb. Neither is it about swat raids that kill peaceful people and their pets inside their homes. It is not about the thousands of deaths it has caused our neighbors south of the US borders and it's not about personal freedoms.
It is about all of these things and more, it is about humanity and fighting oppression and simply using common sense to correct the wrongs that cannabis prohibition have wrought upon us!

Cannibisgate
Richard M Nixon was impeached from the office of president of the United states for his abuse of the political system in the Watergate scandal. Nixon was a white collar criminal who would not accept defeat and did not mind breaking laws nor ignoring morals to get his way.
