Black Market Cannabis Prices Endanger The Publics Safety

Black Market Cannabis Prices Endanger The Publics Safety

Today, Marijuana is often shown in the news as the cause of violent situations. I think everyone knows "Reefer Madness" does not really happen. By that I mean people do not smoke pot and turn into violent crazed criminals. But as the Black Market marijuana prices soar ever higher, with prohibition closing the free market, we have the dangers that high priced marijuana brings to our society.

A recent Rand Report said, the price of weed could have dropped to $38 an ounce. if Prop 19 passed. Though be honest; when I'm in the produce section of the grocery store. I think cannabis should be as cheap, as the rest of the fruits and vegetables. Now how often do you hear of shooting or robbery for a bag of spinach or some rutabagas.

I hear of homes being destroyed by pot growers, remodeling (removing walls) to make homes into grow shows, plus the water and mold damages. Growers have been the cause of many fires, from the overloading electrical circuits. Indoor grow shows need to be regulated, as the to amount of power consumption that may be use for growing in residential neighborhoods.

So here we have prohibition harming the public in three distinct ways, all stemming from its obscene Black Market Price!

1) Violence related to the High Black Market Price
2) Destruction of personal property (homes destroyed) due to High Black Market Prices
3) Growers causing Fire Danger in our neighborhoods due to High Black Market Prices

One more quick thought, how much electricity that is being wasted growing, because prohibition is creating the High Black Market Price making indoor growing profitable!

You realize that pot grows just fine outdoors, the main reason it is grown inside is to hide the plants from law enforcement.

Taxation not Prohibition!

Cannabis Should be Sold Like Alcohol, Not Through Drug Dealers!

Cannabis Should be Sold Like Alcohol, Not Through Drug Dealers!

As a parent I worry about children and drug use, not so much cannabis. I do not advocate kids smoking cannabis, though I know that it is safer for them than say, raiding the liquor cabinet. Cannabis right now does represent a real danger to our kids. How could this be you ask? Pot is a safe medicinal herb, how could it be a danger to my children? The truth is that cannabis is not a gateway drug, the sales system (The Black Market) is the Gateway.

If you went to the liquor store and bought weed you would not have a street savvy salesperson (the pusher man) enticing you to buy other drugs. You would walk in make your purchase and be home safely.

Now here is where things get really interesting;
If cannabis was legal the most popular drug in the US would no longer be sold on the streets through dealers, so if Law Enforcement is tipped off to drug dealing activities it would more than likely be dangerous drugs. So legalizing cannabis would not only stop the dealer Gateway effect, it would also make it much easier for law enforcement to uncover the Hard Drug Dealers.

Now you might have heard the myth that cartels would push more Hard Drugs if they lose the marijuana market. This is BS as they would much rather smuggle Hard Drugs as they take less space and brings a lot more money per kilogram. Face it many Americans smoke pot because it is a milder drug than alcohol, why would they want to use Hard Drugs?

Zogby Poll

If hard drugs such as heroin or cocaine were legalized would you be likely to use them?

99% SAY "NO"

Just think for a minute, what might have happened to their Drug War, if the following arrests had all been Hard Drugs instead of cannabis arrests! Think about how much safer the world had been for our children!

Marijuana Tourism

In recent months with Prop 19 on the ballots there was much talk of California becoming North America's Premiere Marijuana Tourism destination. Well we all know that Prop 19 failed, so where will the Marijuana tourists go to spend their money?
Saipan, in the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands -- a US territory in the Pacific.

A bill legalizing, regulating, and taxing marijuana use for medicinal and other purposes in the CNMI passed the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon, adding to a list of revenue-generating bills pending in the 17th Legislature.

Public Health Secretary Joseph Kevin Villagomez earlier said the CNMI Department of Public Health may lose over $10 million in federal grants should the marijuana legalization bill becomes law.

Villagomez said if one of the goals of legalizing marijuana is to reap potential economic windfall with the commercialization of marijuana cultivation and use, then the committee should commission a study to look at similar places that have done it.

Richard Nixon

Richard Nixon the father of Modern Prohibition

Nixon did more harm to free thinking & the freedom of speech than any other American has, think of the deaths and atrocities tied to Nixon's
reign of power. But he got what he wanted WAR, and to this day we are fighting against the "war on drugs" that Nixon began.

Vote Yes on Prop 19 end Nixon's reign of terror!

From: consortiumnews.com

Among the Commission’s findings were:

- "No significant physical, biochemical, or mental abnormalities could be attributed solely to their marihuana smoking."

- "No verification is found of a causal relationship between marihuana use and subsequent heroin use."

- "In sum, the weight of the evidence is that marihuana does not cause violent or aggressive behavior; if anything marihuana serves to inhibit the expression of such behavior."

- "Neither the marihuana user nor the drug itself can be said to constitute a danger to public safety."

- "Marihuana’s relative potential for harm to the vast majority of individual users and its actual impact on society does not justify a social policy designed to seek out and firmly punish those who use it."

An unhappy President Nixon called Gov. Shafer on the carpet and pressured him to change the Commission’s conclusion saying, "You see, the thing that is so terribly important here is that it not appear that the Commission’s frankly just a bunch of do-gooders."

Shafer declined to change his conclusions, and Nixon declined to appoint him to a pending federal judgeship.

Nixon's reaction to the findings of the Schafer commission's report, shows the war on drugs began from political motivation and not from concerns for the publics safety.
Today the war on drugs is:
a war on marijuana,
a war on the general public,
a war on personal freedoms,
a war that must end now!
